. Set in the wonderfully picturesque landscape of the Swiss canton of Grisons, the power plant’s two sites together generate 5% of the entire canton’s annual electricity output.

As part of a general renovation in 2010, the communication and security system were to be updated as well. The new system was required to unite all Intercom components and technologies for easy, uniform access via a central control point. The operators decided in favour of a solution by Commend Switzerland as the best one to meet all their requirements. Networked across both sites of the power plant, the system covers all required door and gate call stations and includes the equipment of several Public Address zones and the integration of alarm systems and a radio network for mobile communication throughout the premises. From their fully featured Control Desk technicians and service staff can keep their eyes and ears on all important areas at both sites.

As operations management confirms, the excellent speech quality and central control have simplified operations and created a measurable added value since start-up of the new facilities at the Albula-Landwasser Kraftwerke AG facilities.
